Dunwoody Upholstery is located in the heart of Atlanta servicing Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Buckhead, Alpharetta, Druid Hills, Midtown, Virginia Highlands and the surrounding metro Atlanta areas. Our clients include residential, hospitality, commercial and contract.

Warranty

We are here to serve you and proudly stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of our work. We offer a one year warranty for all of our upholstery and custom work. In event of any defect, we will
repair or replace your furniture free of charge.

Jonathan Mukunta started learning the art of furniture design, craftsmanship, and restoration at an early age. Working as an apprentice under the skillful eye of his father in Zambia, Jonathan developed a strong passion for the craft. He went on to study at the Pretoria Institute of Upholstery and Art Design where he received a degree in Practical Furniture Design, Custom Furniture, and Furniture Design. In 2001 Jonathan migrated from Africa to the United States. Continuing his education in America, in 2002 he received a certification in Interiors Designer and Decorations, Furniture Design Manufacturing, and Decoration Fabrications from Ashford College.
In 2010 Jonathan founded Atlanta Home Furniture Repair and Dunwoody Upholstery. New to the metro Atlanta area, Jonathan found navigating the business landscape and becoming a new business owner quite challenging. From finding the right office staff, marketing team and skilled tradesman to generating business capital to fund business operations, becoming an owner/operator required patience, poise, discipline and faith.
Fast forward to 2017, Jonathan's determination is finally paying off. By focusing on solutions, creating a target market and continuing to master his craft, Jonathan found the business support staff and perseverance needed to make Dunwoody Upholstery a success. In 2015 and 2016 Dunwoody Upholstery was awarded best Upholstery Company in Atlanta by Thumbtack and was featured in the May edition of Atlanta's Voyage Magazine as one of Atlanta's most Inspiring Entrepreneurs.
Dunwoody Upholstery is located in the heart of Atlanta, providing quality service for metro Atlanta, Buckhead, Brookhaven and Dunwoody. Jonathan and his team of skilled assistants provide custom furniture repair, custom furniture reupholstery, and custom furniture design.
